    Gradient => (8 - (-2))/(-6 - (-2))

    i.e. 10/-4 => -5/2

    So, equation is y = -5x/2 + C

    Using the point (-6, 8) we get:

    8 = -5(-6)/2 + C

    so, C = -7

    Hence, y = -5x/2 - 7.....slope-intercept form

    or, 2y + 5x + 14 = 0....standard form

    (y₂ - y₁)(x - x₁) - (x₂ - x₁)(y - y₁) = 0

    (8 + 2)(x + 2) - (-6 + 2)(y + 2) = 0

    10(x + 2) + 4(y + 2) = 0

    10x + 20 + 4y + 8 = 0

    10x + 4y + 28 = 0

    5x + 2y + 14 = 0

    Points: (-2, -2) and (-6, 8)

    Slope: -5/2 or -2.5

    Straight line equation: y = -2.5x -7
