    The slope-intercept equation for a line has the form y = mx+b,

where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.

The y-intercept is the value of y when x = 0. Since (0,4) is a point on the line, the y-intercept is 4.

    So, rewrite y = mx+b, replacing m with ¼ and b with 4.

Write an equation given the following information

    Y-intercept: (0,4) and slope m = 1/4

    Equation: y = (1/4)x + 4

    I believe you use the formula y=mx  + b
