How can I convince my parents to stop making me do sports?

So my parents have really been pushing me to do sports that I absolutely hate. I appreciate them caring about my physical health but I am in no way obese or have any health threats. Im a big nerd who cares about my studies and loves to do science and engineering but my parents keep pushing the annoying American tradition of sports. I’ve never really been entertained or found any interest in sports, so I try to skip out on them, but my parents sign me up to sports I

A.) Dislike and have no knowledge about             B.) Cannot physically perform

Is there any way possible I can convince my parents to stop making me do sports and let me focus on doing school and educational things?

You've got a good start about acknowledging the fact you appreciate the fact your parents care about your physical health and that you said you care about your studies. In fact, the question description sounds like a rational explanation you can tell them. Don't say the "have no knowledge about" or "cannot physically perform" to them because they might think, "Hmmmm maybe we can change that. Let's try that. :)" Rationalize with your parents. Maybe even compromise. Good luck, kiddo.

Others have already made useful suggestions to you, so I would only add one more thought: they can sign you up, but they , or no one else, can make you participate,, if you absolutely refuse to join in.  You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink! Right?   You do need to exercise, however, so perhaps you can come up with something acceptable to both yourself and to your family, even if its walking about the neighborhood, regularly though. Good luck, good wishes!

Take the opportunity to learn golf and tennis. Those are 2 sports you can play long after the school team sports are gone. So consider golf and present that as an alternate. Try to join the school team. If you can't make it, get some lesson and pay the fees to play on the public links. Same for tennis. Seriously, talk them into a pingpong table. Darts. Shooting. Archery.
