Is it safe to travel by car from Illinois to New Mexico? And are hotels safe now?

    New Mexico is not in Mexico.

    No, it's not particularly safe. Especially for others being exposed to you since Illinois is a hot spot right now.

    I am sure some hotels are safe and some are not. You also have to worry about restaurants, gas stations and rest areas.
