I know this person, who has no appreciation for the detail of work I do, because he dislikes the subject.

there is no general word for that because it is normal.  We all are bored by the minutia of someone else's activities except when we also enjoy those activities to that same level of detail.  I learned that lesson long ago, as a child.

Now there are probably a lot of terms that could be used to describe people who show disdain or become abusive because they do not value you or what you do, but that is not what you ask about.
