How do you deal with a lazy co-worker?

So this person started almost two years ago. First 6 months did almost nothing. Guy also had an attitude and bullied me into doing more by a) just watching what I do 2) keep bugging asking what I'm doing... so I just kept busy to bore him. Then the guy just watched video during work hours and did very little remaining of time.

Boss is not in state and the other department boss, this guy made sure to act as a personal assistant and "friend" to him so that this person didn't care as long as he had his personal assistant right next to him.

With this my workload has increased dramatically. I'm going crazy, it's impacting my work quality because I'm doing 3 or 4 times the work that he does. He eventually started doing some since he was looking too bad.

But I'm just exhausted, and the guy since is rested makes sure to jump on anything I miss or do wrong to end up looking like the guy that is on top of things when he's pretty much doing nothing just waiting for an opportunity to look good.

How can I deal with such a person? I earn good money, like my workplace, and it was my dream job before this person was hired.

Boss won't do anything about it. Plus this guy will make sure to make my life hell if I do evidence him.

Take a 2 week vacation and let the guy fall flat on his face because he can't handle the workload.

🥴 Welcome to my world for the past 3 years.

But things have gotten better and I'm not as lenient as you.

Don't be afraid to report him or tell him off yourself.

If there's a way to go over your bosses head and report him, do it. Otherwise, keep complaining to your boss. Film his behaviors if you have to.

Start quietly looking for other jobs that pay the same or better.

When you get one, resign.

When you resign tell them, "I really didn't want to do this, but because I'm doing L. Azy's job AND my job I'm getting way to stressed and it is hurting my health.

Please feel free to call me if and when there are any  openings here ...but not in the same department as L. Azy.

Two weeks after you are gone, L.Azy will be fired and they will call you.

You can go back if you want to..... and the pay is better.

"so I just kept busy to bore him"   Most employees keep busy because it's their job, not because they're trying to spite a coworker.

"How do you deal with a lazy co-worker?"  You're dealing with it fine in the sense that you are doing your best and working hard.   Your attitude could use an adjustment.  Quit worrying about this other guy.   Just focus on doing what you're supposed to do.   Part of your exhaustion is because it takes a lot of energy to spend all day pissed off and feeling like a victim.  Learning to control your emotional reactions will greatly improve your quality of life.
