I'm looking for a computer that can be used for school and gaming?
I am on a budget of about 200-250 dollars, I don't need some high end gaming computer that can run the new doom, just something can decently run games like team fortress 2, Minecraft, and other games that usually give high performance anyways. I also need the computer for school since they're probably going to be doing a lot of stuff online, and my current laptop struggles with chrome.
I don't care if it's pre-built or if I have to build it myself, I just want a good computer to pass the time and work on.

Your budget really isn't enough for even a bottom of the barrel new computer. And even a used one will be close. I would suggest doubling your budget. Then finding something like a used/refub office PC l with a 6th/7th gen i5, 8GB RAM and 500 GB HDD. That would set you back around $300. Add a lower end video card like used GTX 1050 for $60-$75 and replace the stock HDD with a 1 TB SDD (SATA) for around $100 (or less) and you'll have a semi-capable gaming PC Of course you'll need monitor, keyboard, and mouse as well
Gaming computers aren't consoles, $200-$250 isn't going to cut it. If you were going to build a new mid-range gaming PC- you'd be parting with around $800-$1000. So keep your expectations for budget realistic.

I suggest you consider rebuilt. That gives you a PC at a good price with a warranty. An example would be https://www.discount-computer.com/laptops/ The price range fits yours and more powerful than a new one.
