I recall that at school, I found poetry to be very boring.  Of course, the style of education in those days was very different.  I ithink that they were trying  (probably in vain) to teach us the use of words but I think that  poetry was not the way to do it.

Lot of poetry eventually results in an exercise  of fine sounding phrases  that sendup with so many stanzas that the overall finished open ends up as a technical exercise which says nothing very intelligently and leaves the reader wondering what the Hell it was all about anyway.

It's not supposed to be like that you know. Music is a form of poetry where the music paints the mood, and you provide  the  picture.

If music can achieve the desired effect with ease, its a puzzle why poetry cannot do the same considering that it has the advantage  of language  to play with.

The reason in my humble opinion is that poetry concentrates so much on the 'construction of the poetry' that it starts to disregard what it was try to relate which eventually ends up as meaningless nonsense.  Technical nonsense  is not very inspiring if simply viewed as a forhulea .

I've been writing poetry since I was 16 years old and now I'm just old.  Example of my poetry, below.

Greed is a terrible disease,It blindly takes more than it needs. If man can never say enough,This greed will be the death of us.

Firstly I'd point out that you'd get better answers in the Poetry section but since you want a politician's answer I'll remind you of what the great again Trump said: "I know words I have the best words".
