Starting a player you add on Monday?

This is ridiculous and has become a repeated issue.  Last year a player added a player on Monday to play in an empty slot, he dropped a player from his bench, so this player had not played for him on Sunday or Thursday, yet Yahoo would not allow him to play him and only show him on the roster for the next week.  Again this week this has happened again.  This is a terrible rule you need to fix, if I am starting a player and he gets hurt or gets covid someone should be able to add a replacement for that player.  Fix this immediately or explain to me what I must do as commissioner to change the settings to allow this.

Update:

This instance specifically is about Replacing Gore with Perrine tonight, you should be able to do that especially if a player was hurt, no player is hurt, but if on Monday you want to, make changes you should be allowed.   NO one is cheating the system, this has happened many times and it shouldn't.  Sunday should not be the weekly deadline for adding players for that week, if you want to replace a starter with a another player on those Monday games it should be allowed.

Update 2:

If someone loses a kicker for a team in pregame or a RB, or a TE, they should be able to replace them with a player from the two teams playing on Monday night.   Its that simple, the answer is Yahoo isn't allowing for this situation, and in a year full of cancelled games and covid IR this should be fixed.   Unless someone knows a setting for this where it will allow you to add a player for another player who hasn't played yet on a Monday or Sunday night.

This is controlled by the commissioner of your league.  In one of my leagues, the commissioner was the only one allowed to claim waivers.  I actually went to his house and "persuaded" him to change this rule.

Wow, I've never seen an issue as you've described. But between Yahoo, Espn and My Fantasy league, I haven't even played in, or commissioned 300 leagues yet. That should happen next year.

Once a game has started a player can not be swapped to or from where he was designated. However, if you have an empty spot on your roster before his game starts, every league I've been in allows you to add a player. But it must meet your league's roster limits.

Hell, I go back to prior to Thursday night game and online fantasy, we had to FAX our line ups in on Friday before 5 pm. Then on Tuesday we had to calculate accurately both teams points according to USA Today box scores. Then FAX them to commissioner by noon Wednesday, or lose. Mistakes were $5 and if it altered the game it was $10.

If you have a player on your bench, you shouldn't be allowed to drop him on Monday if his team played.  Then you'd have an extra player for the week.

If you are picking a player into an empty bench spot on Monday, that's fine.  But that doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.  It's not a terrible rule.  if you are supposed to have 15 guys on your roster, you are trying to make it 16 for the week, and you can't do that.

If you have a "questionable" player for Monday night, you need to make sure you have a Monday night sub for him before the games start, that's common knowledge.  If you don't, then you are taking the risk starting him.

this has nothing to do with waivers, the player is added for next week, he is on the roster of the team adding him, but the intent was to replace a player on Monday night.  You should be able to add a player if you have that opening on Monday to play that week.  If there is a setting that allows adds on Monday to play Monday if there is an opening that would be great, but this has repeatedly happened and its frustrating.

First, we're not Yahoo employees.  We're just community members like you.  Are these your waiver settings?

    Waiver Time: 1 day

Weekly Waivers: Game Time - Tuesday

I'm pretty sure Game Time-Tuesday used to apply to individual games, meaning a waiver claim made on Friday morning would clear Sunday (assuming it wasn't a Thursday player).  What I've noticed is now we have to wait until after Monday's game.  We're not having trouble dropping bench players but that 1 day thing is a joke.

The leagues I run don't use waivers, so I'm not an expert.  The only thing I can suggest is go into your waiver settings and make a claim for every "weekly waivers" setting they have.  Then just cancel the claim.  You may have to wait until Friday, though, to know for sure.
