Why does my auto trunk release mechanism keep breaking on my 2006 Saturn Ion? ?
Two times now my trunk release snaps and breaks, it's on the left side of my car in the trunk, it's a piece of U shaped metal. It makes a loud bong and it's gone! Do I need to keep the piece in a certain position or make sure it's in a certain position? Thanks for any help on this.

The cable needs to be lubricated. Get a cable lubricator from a motorcycle or bicycle shop.
