My job has recently started giving me managerial tasks without actually promoting me to manager or giving me a raise. What gives?

maybe its because you don't need to be promoted to do these so called 'managerial tasks' ever thought about that ?

managers and bosses are who they are for a reason.

they went through these hard times when they were working themselves up to their positions and know the drill they know what it takes to reach the summit.

    question is do you ?

It is a test to see if you can do the job.

They ALSO monitor you to see if you go to any on line forums looking for answers.

    Do you?

Good Lord. I get so tired of giving this advice. Be an adult.

Speak with your employer, not a bunch of clueless anonymous Yahoos oh an internet message board.

The internet has created an unmotivated helpless generation.

Perhaps they are testing you to see if you can handle such a position, considering you for promotion? Ask.

They're seeing how you handle the new duties first.

Maybe they are considering you for the position and they want to see how you handle the tasks.  Don't get ahead of yourself.  You have no expectation of the promotion or a raise just because they have asked you to perform a managerial duty.  Concentrate on doing a good job.

They are getting ready to promote someone, possibly the person they will have you train.
