How do you feel when the person with the right answer gets tons of downvotes?
It bothers me to see that happen to people sometimes, especially when their answer is well thought out.

Unfortunately a right answer does not mean a popular answer as is usually seen in the political section .

I see that a lot. I just keep reminding myself that the points don't matter.

It just reminds me how simple simpletons can be.

I've gotten used to it. I often provide relevant and well-thought answers, but more often than not, answers like the ones below get Best Answer. Here on Y!A, it's not Best Answer, it's favorite answer or my buddy's answer that often get awarded. That's why I've always felt the community should award Best Answer, which would be more fair. It's awfully suspicious when someone reaches one million points.
Up votes and down votes don't seem to have any impact on Best Answer. I get down votes just about every time I answer. Many times I feel it's just spite. That's why I now answer anonymously more often. Some people just don't like other users. Once the comments section returns, that's how you know how well you're liked around here. Bring on the down votes and comments, no one knows who we really are.

It's not always about a well thought out answer, Sometimes it's about the user who gives it that gets the upvotes or downvotes.
