What makes a person addicted to spicy foods or peppers?

This is something that I can't figure out. Though I don't eat it all at one time, (for me) jalapenos are one thing that I really love. Even though I sometimes have to drink something, (depending on what I'm eating) I'll put hot sauce on anything that it can go on (meaning foods like some meats [mainly chicken;] certain pastas; pizza; and other foods [as long as it's a food that it can go with and not mess up the taste.) I know that lots of people are worse than this; but what makes me want it a lot (as well as jalapenos?)

When the pain gets to a certain level, your brain releases endorphins that give you a rush of pleasure to combat the pain, almost like a sudden 'high'. Besides the flavor, that would be the best part of eating hot peppers for me.

I read something about this once and it really is like an addiction.  I wish I could remember more of the article, it had to do with the intensity of the stimulation and it's the heat reaction, not the taste.

    I suggest googling it.

The human body temp is 98.6 degrees.  Jalapenos and other hot peppers are  indigenous to warm weather climates where 90 degree temps are normal, it's instinctually natural to like it and it's natural to not like it due to our removal from those climates and conditions.

People addicted to super spicy foods basically have NO taste buds and just do that to impress others. Wait a few years when they have burned out their taste buds and cannot taste Anything at all.
