Missed walmart orientation; been trying to reschedule but they never pick up the phone? ?

2 weeks ago a personal situation with my family came up and I somehow forgot to call them and say I wont be able to make it to orientation that day (DONT GIVE ME CRAP FOR IT PLZ) so for the past 3 weeks I've been trying to call them like hundreds of times at this point and explain myself and see of I can reschedule and every time it beeps no one ever answered the phone

Hiring for the busiest time of the year: you're a no call / no show for orientation.

This would = me thinking Anonymous doesn't really need this job. Not showing up for the first day signals how seriously you'll take the job (not), and the tendency you may have to call in sick, go home early, 'have personal situations' arise, etc.

With my land line company, I can list a number as 'spam' or something similar, and my phone never rings. The caller hears a phone ringing, but I don't. The personnel office may have something similar. That save time that would be wasted talking with someone who's not going to be a reliable employee, anyway

You didn’t show up for orientation, they will assume you didn’t want the job. In three weeks time you didn’t think to go into the store and talk to them direct?

    Sorry.  Look for employment elsewhere.

Walmart needs dependable employees and, as you were a no show & a no-call on the 1st day and, 3 weeks later they still haven't heard from you, you're no longer on their list. If they didn't answer the phone, why didn't you go there and explain your situation? It's not just Walmart as any other retailer would react in the same manner. You need to learn responsibility.

You missed the boat on that one.  They don't want an employee who no calls/no shows.  You already made a bad first impression and most people consider that an indicator of future job performance.  Give it up and move on with your life.

They probably blocked your number.  Try calling from a different number.  They like to play these games with people.  For example, if they give you a questionnaire while filling out the online application and you answer a question wrong the screen will just blank out and give you no indication why.  Not even a "Thank you for applying but we've decided to pursue other candidates who may be a better fit for this position."  It won't let you back into the system to start over or continue either.  When you call they'll tell you it must've been a glitch in the system but really it means you were disqualified because you answered one of the questions wrong.

Say, for example, the question is "Are you willing to travel".  They're looking for somebody who can travel but you answer "no" to the question.  BOOM!  You're thrown into a blank screen and the process comes to an end.  You wrestle around with it and wonder what's going on before calling them.  They tell you it was a glitch in the system and to try again later.  It wasn't a glitch in the system and you can't get back in later.  This is intentional because they already know they don't want you.  You aren't willing to travel.

Source(s): Not trying to be a d*ck just telling it like it is. If you really needed the job you shouldn't have missed the orientation.

Well, have you double checked the number you have is the right number to be calling? That said, you have almost certainly missed out on this opportunity. Let’s be real, if you really wanted the job you would have gone IN PERSON to the store to apologize, explain, and ask if you can get another chance. Calling more than a couple times without getting through to someone is a waste of time. Move on, good luck finding a new opportunity.

They might be a little too busy with the Christmas rush to answer the phone.  You are unlikely to be rescheduled as you were a no show, no call which usually leads to immediate termination.  If the phone is beeping instead of ringing, you probably are calling a fax line. Try another number.

This is their busiest time of the year.  Since you didn't show up for the mandatory orientation (whatever the reason), I suspect they've dropped you.  Of course, they should be picking up their phone--I don't know what that's about.
