Hey there, the lifeblood of any business, blog, website is traffic.  Traffic is the life blood and SEO (done correctly) can get you that traffic.

There are two ways that you can attract traffic and that is paid or organically. Paid traffic is through the form of Facebook Ads for example, ie anything where you pay to get leads, traffic, whatever your desired outcome.

Organic traffic is done more through the use of SEO, through the use of keywords, both short and long-tail, being content specific, you index your pages, alt tags, meta descriptions etc., are more the the 'techy' stuff.  However, there is a lot of things SEO related that many of us can do that can help search engines 'rank' our pages so that more people will see them, that traffic being the 'life blood' I was referring to in the beginning.

One thing I must say is that there is no substitute for great content, however, you can have the best product in the world, and even the best looking website, but if no one can find you, you're not going to get much luck with it, let alone make any sales

You are very welcome to check out my blog post on this as I think it will help answer your question far better.  All the best Harvey.  https://jbs786.com/9-simple-but-effective-top-of-t...

SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization". It is the practice of increasing the quality and quantity of website traffic, as well as the visibility of your brand, through unpaid search engine results.

While paid ads, social media, and other online platforms can drive traffic to websites, most of the internet traffic comes from search engines.

Organic search results cover more digital real estate, appear more credible to seasoned search engines, and receive far more clicks than paid ads.

You've already learned a hundred times that Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a crucial digital marketing method, but you might still not have a firm grasp of this dynamic and multifaceted creature, even though you have a clear understanding of what it means.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, of course. It involves designing & writing content which includes key search terms, including long-tailed search terms, which mesh with the metrics the search engine uses in determining placement in the search results. Without good SEO, you probably don't get much traffic - nobody can find you.

But now, there's not only SEO but UX (user experience) which determine how much traffic you might get, your placement in search results, and actually getting users, buyers, to stay on your site, find what they want, and buy.

A professional copywriter with SEO & UX expertise who does site audits can evaluate what you need in terms of site design, SEO & UX metrics. Costs typically run about $2500 (and up for large sites).
