It's "school ethos" as a compound noun, or "the school's ethos' if it's possessive. It's the reputation of the school and how the school establishes it. Is there are strong emphasis on academic achievement and integrity? Then that's the ethos.
Let me give an example. We have a local high school with a magnet program in academic preparation for college. It's well known. When someone says they graduated from that school, people are impressed. They have an advantage in being hired because of the reputation of the school for academic rigor.
