I decided to study astronomy at home...?
I decided to study astronomy at home since i cannot go to college. If I buy good books on cosmology, astronomy, astrophysics, universe..... can i be in some way called or deemed astronomer in the end, after i have red many books. Can somebody give me some good books with explanations for the equations that are given in them, where is explained for example what m means, whar W is?
The best option would be to give me some books that are used in colleges and where equations are explained, whar m, W means, and where drawings are explained.

The thing is, it's just interesting and worth studying for its own sake. But amateur astronomers have certainly achieved respect, such as Patrick Moore.

Zeljiko,
You have cried out into the interwebs and I, "The Chuck" have heard your prayers. You have earned the title of Amateur Astronomer in my book of honorary titles.

You can't even spell 'read'.
No, you cannot truthfully call your self a professional anything.

Astronomy is highly based in Physics. And Physics is highly Mathematical. You really should study Physics and Mathematics first, then later on you can move into academic Astronomy.
Or else just read Sky & Telescope magazine, and pursue Astronomy only as a hobby. That is what I do.

To study astronomy at a scientific level requires a working knowledge of calculus and statistics. If you study all 3 topics, then it would be a good basis.
Then if you can complete an appropriate bachelor's (preferably Masters/Ph.D.) degree thru an accredited college, you'd be considered a scientist, otherwise, you would be an amateur.
I have a bachelor's in Math/Physics, with an additional 1 year of study in nuclear engineering. I'm considered a scientist.

This looks like a fair start and follow the links. This is from a renowned magazine - you might subscribe to that, too:

You said you decided to study astronomy. You didn't tell us your age. Anyhow, studying astronomy at home means you'd be a self-educated person. You'd not be accepted anywhere as a scientist. And you'd be able to "spread" your knowledge on astronomy only to friends and relatives who are eager to listen to you, but not necessarily understand you.
Try to talk to them about Parsecs, Hubble's constant, p-p or C-N-O fusion reactions, or maybe the reason it is believed that dark matter exists. You would be dealing with people who will forget in a matter of seconds what they've just heard you saying. If you want to get a good knowledge about astronomy, read books, try to understand, then you might be able to go to forums like this one and answer questions.
