It's probably been asked before but is it true cat's scratch a meaning of affection?
My cat will suddenly scratch me when I think we are playing and I am stroking him. What does this mean?

the instincts of animals dont fully switch off during play or even affection often times, u shd get a lighter bite or scratch, i used to do a dare game with my cats over te edge of the sofa, was scratched to pieces , cat played rough not me or i mildly pis5ed it off

No.............. it means your cat is being over stimulated by you and is reacting negatively to that over stimulation
