Stepped on rusty thumb tack ?

So I was just walking in my room, and felt a pinch on the bottom of my foot. Looked around, it was a thumbtack which is rusty at the bottom. Should I go to the doctor? It’s not a big wound, it’s a little cut. I got my upgraded shots when I was 16, I’m now almost 20. I cleaned it with soap and water and covered it with a bandaid. Any advice?

A tetanus shot is good for 10 years so you'll be fine.

You are probably OK but I would call the doctor's office just in case.  I clean wounds with hydrogen peroxide....

No. The tetanus vaccination is good for 10 years. And you wouldn't need one regardless, because you can't get tetanus from RUST. That's only a myth.

If you ar concerned, CALL your family doctor and ask.  The doctor's office should have a record of your last tetanus booster.

Otherwise, just keep it clean and seek medical attention if it looks infected (hot, red, increase paid, puss, swelling, etc.)

Don't quote me on this but I believe a tetanus shot is good for 5 or 10 years. You will be fine, just clean the area like you did.
