Is fishing with people throw it back cruelty?

Update:

Cruel to the fish because they get a sharp object shoved into their mouths and then they get pulled up violently and dangle from a fishing line. What is the point of catching a fish if you're not going to eat it????

The vast majority of my fishing is cath and release. It really depends on the individuals respect for the fish . I tend to crimp or file off barbs on lures or purchase barbless tackle just for catch and release and do not releas a mortally injured fish unless the law forbids keeping them . Even when keeping fish for a meal i thake the effort to see the fish suffes al little as possible
