No, not at all. In fact, since diabetes II is caused by added sugars and white flour products, many patients are thin.
Obesity is caused by the same thing that causes diabetes II, but is a different biochemical mechanism, so the are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.

It's a common myth that only overweight individuals will develop diabetes, both type 1 and type 2. While it's true that weight can be one factor that increases a person's risk for developing diabetes, it's just one piece of a larger picture. People of all shapes and sizes — and yes, weights — can develop diabetes.

No - they don't. My sister is over 70 years old - weighed over 300lbs for most of her life - has horrible eating habits - and does not have diabetes.

Those who eat a ton of sugar or starchy carbs, end up with diabetes. And their sizes dont matter. Skinny. Fat.
I know of 3 skinny diabetics that drank a lot of soda and coffee (w/sugar).
