I got a real stupid question on bicycles. What is it?
How many wheel(s) does a bicycle have?

- blazingpedalsLv 61 month agoTechnically a bicycle has two wheels (bi=two.) Legally, anything that is pedal-powered and has one to three wheels, and sometimes 4 wheels, counts as a bicycle. That does not mean a trike IS a bicycle, it only means a trike is treated as a bicycle under the law.
- 1 month agoWheels and names: Uni-cycle = 1 "uni" Bi-cycle = 2 "bi" Tri-cycle = 3 "tri" Quad = 4... ____ Regardless general shape and function it's still called a bicycle/e-bike/motorcycle/scooter
- Sidewinder JerryLv 61 month agoFrom a common sense view a bicycle has 2 wheels. From an engineering view there's 4 basic mechanical machines (lever, wedge, sphere and wheel) all other mechanical machines are just a combination of the 4 basic machines. So from an engineering view there can be numerous wheels in a bicycle. Source(s): Motorized bicycle owner and builder.
- ?Lv 61 month agoYou're 100% right. That is stupid. 🙄 Bi - meaning two. Binary: something made of two things or parts. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/binary Unicycle - one. Bicycle - two. Tricycle - three
