How do I avoid my parents? ?

I'm 16 and my parents and I just don't get along. I'd rather avoid them and save up to move our the day I turn 18 than constantly fight them. Any tips?

Update:

CPS doesn't care, because where I live laws on abuse are incredibly lenient. If we lived somewhere else I'd have been homed with someone else by now.

Update 2:

They keep me home schooled and don't allow me to work so it's incredibly difficult to stay out of the house.

If you want to avoid them until you are able to leave, stay busy, very busy. Study at the library. Join after school sports or other programs. Volunteer.Run for school office.Get a part time job and save every penny. By the time you actually get home, there won't be much interaction left before bed.

The best tip I can give you is to milk whatever relationship you have with your parents because your savings won't last for long and you'll have no future without a degree or at least a vocational certification. Use them for funding as long as you can so that when you do finally flee the home you won't have to risk homelessness. Ideally get them to foot the bill for you to live in a dorm at college.

Hey times are odd parents are stressed.

They need quiet when they get home. You should be able to read and relax in your room.

2 years will make the difference.

It takes 2 to argue.  So refuse to argue.

Be more helpful, without being asked.

I think if you took a different approach youd be happier.

Plus you should be working 3 to 4 hrs a day and saving to get out. This is a job not a career so just work somewhere.

Remember that, when you're just a few years older, you'll likely feel differently -- unless the parents are abusive?  In that case, i can't blame you.

You're sixteen, so yeah, this time of life isn't easy sometimes. Take care. ok?

It is common at age 16 to have the feeling that parents are out of touch. That is normal. Frustrating, but normal. By the time you're 18, they will seem 'smarter', and when you reach 25, you will wonder at their wisdom. Be patient with yourself. Deciding to leave home at 18 will only hurt you, as you will be ill-prepared to face the world. Stay at home until you are either in higher education or have learned a skill to support you. In future years, you will want their friendship and support.
