Can I use different sand to fill in a hole?

I dug a large hole in a little forest near a beach. It was still sand, and not soil. I was gonna go to a supplier to get some sand, but how do I tell if it's the same type? What if its not? Does it really make a huge difference? I read that when they replenish beaches that they have to use the same sand, but does that apply with the hole i dug? I used the sand for a construction project. That's why i can't fill it in with the same sand.

Any sand should do. You don't have to worry about the cosmetics of it or whether it can blend with the sand that's there and often in motion. You're just filling in a hole.
