Need help with this please?

How do I handle having friends when family is more important? I am a 29 year old and I have struggled socially my whole life pretty much.  I don’t really talk to anyone much except for my family. I do have a best friend but I really don’t talk to her much but she does talk to me to check on me and I do text back and I also hardly ever hang out with anyone

If you are content with the main ppl in your life being family, then there's nothing wrong with that. That's the case for many people and there's no wrong or right. I wish I was closer to my family.  Are you upset that you don't have more friends? Having just a few good friends is fine. As long as you surround yourself with caring ppl you like to be around, even if that's just your family, it is all fine. Many ppl also struggle socially. It's not easy to make good, close friends when you're an adult (compared to when you're in school). Just try opening up to others and join some groups that enjoy hobbies or interest you like. Talk more to your co-workers and invite them for lunch.
