No. They don't live in Canada, I don't consider them to be Canadian. How as a Canadian can I take pride in that....

And yet it is The U.S. that is "aw golly gee" about them.  She is on the coins as a figurehead. Better than that dude with a beard.  Soon she will be no more as all people die but she will remain on the coin until Canada decides to make something different.  It costs money to change the money over.  It is not like very important.  From what I have heard, Canadians are GLAD they are NOT in the U.S.

They are a symbol of continuity and a reminder that it's the elected politicians who rule in the monarch's name that gets fired for misconduct. Every sane democratic government should make the head of state a symbolic position be it a monarch, a president, or something else. Only those delusional Americans are still messing around with branches of government that are supposed to be checked and balanced but aren't. 

Canadians are at an all-time low on Royalty.  The most recent Canadian polls say less than a quarter of Canadians want to keep the current Royals.  Almost half believe we should elect Royalty.  

As for me.  I think why make things more expensive.  Any changes will cost a fortune and really mean little change to the average Canadian on the street.  So I am in favour of pretending I have pride in them if it saves us the time, money and effort of changes.
