2008 BMW 328i oil leak, worth repair?

I have a 2008 BMW 328i that was being used with an unknown oil leak for some time. Apparently there are multiple holes, in the gasket maybe? I have heard in the past from some people that replacing the gasket might not be enough and that there might be some engine damage? Is it worth it to replace the gasket and engine? Is there more work needed? What would be the price range to replace both on this series and year? Thank you so much in advance!

Take the car to a mechanic and get an estimate.  The car has many "gaskets" and we do not know which gasket you are talking about.

Trade it in. Repairs are going to be expensive.

Which gasket is leaking?  Have a qualified mechanic look at it, tell you what's wrong, and estimate repair costs.
