Can DIRECTV DVR record at a specific time you want? ?
Does the dvr only schedule record time and days on guide or does it have a settings like a vcr recorder where you can set your own time and days you want it to start recording?.

I haven't had DirecTV in 2 years, but yes, you could manually record. You set the date, time and channel.
