A friend of mine is in the habit of calling up and then will abdruptly hangs up letting me know she will call later. What is with that ?
She will call. Talk for a few minutes and then she always tells me she has to run. That holds true even when I call. Sometimes I find that rude.

So they will call you then hang up after a few minutes?
If you call them and they answer first ask Do you have time for a chat?
If this brothers you tell them,. When you call me I would appreciate it if you can talk for awhile rather than hanging up after only a few minutes

Show your dominance by saying you will call her later and then hanging up before she even gets the chance

Some of us really, really hate talking on the phone, and we hate calls that go on and on after the main things have been said. That's why email and texting are better. And maybe your friend has better things to do than to listen to you. Are you constantly complaining about your life? I know people who do that- I try to avoid talking to them on the phone, too.
