Are legends like Kuchisake-Onna and Teke-Teke fake or real?

Hello "?" I believe that those legends are not real because if someone was cut in half by a train, they would be dead and unlikely to walk on their elbows. Additionally, if someone had a slit mouth they would probably want to get that fixed instead of focusing on slitting other people's mouths.
