Can I use rogaine if my hair isn’t clean?

I used it earlier today after I showered but put gel in my hair since then. It says to clean your scalp before every use but wouldn’t that mean I have to take two showers a day?

It's the scalp that needs to be clean - you can use products on the hair if you don't also get on the scalp.
