Is there a company or someone who can correct my old 1980s binoculars that have double images ?

Or is it cheaper to buy brand new binoculars ?

I can't correct them myself as I have no tripod, it seems a difficult process

Get a millimeter scale. looking at your image in a mirror, measure the distance between you pupils. Use the left eye to read the zero and right eye to read the spread. Then set the ocular distance on the binoculars. "The most accurate way to measure the distance between circles is to left edge to left edge rather than center to center.) Mark that distance and keep them there.

If they're out of alignment due to damage take them apart and burn ants with them.

Dump them unless they are a valuable antique collectors's item.

I have never seen binocs that did not have a thumb adjustment for that.

what does a tripod have to do with this?
