Would it be inappropriate to ask someone to do this?

You’re going to wash dishes a few minutes later. Plenty of dirty forks, spoons, knives, plates, bowls, mugs, & pans are sitting in the sink. Someone decides to have cereal, so he starts to take a ceramic bowl from the cabinet & a silver spoon from a drawer. When you see him doing that, you ask him to use a paper bowl & a disposable plastic spoon instead, so you’d have less to wash.

Would this be a bit much to ask him that?

Oh come on! Just wash that one extra bowl and spoon. It's no big deal. It wouldn't bother me. So, yeah, it's a bit much.

YES, bcuz the more polite, considerate thing to do would be to simply ask them to wash that bowl & spoon after using it.

    Yes it would be.

  • How well do you know them? I think it should be ok to ask them to do that unless they’re a stranger or you’ve met them only once or twice.
