Does it annoy you when people partake superfluous words trying to sound smart?

And they even use them incorrectly?

Updated 7 days ago:

I enjoyed posting this final question of my brief career on YA.  Thanks for the responses!

Best answer could’ve been anyone, but I went with Mr. Anonymous who so clearly got the joke.

BTW, “superfluous” means “far beyond what is required or needed.”  (And partake was intentionally misused)

Sometimes.  I was watching someone speak in an informational video, and she kept using the phrase "de rigueur."

We get it.  You learned a new phrase and now you have to let everyone know. lol

It made her sound like a child.
