Should we help people with gender dysphoria to achieve better self esteem, instead of trying to tell them they are something they aren't?

It's obvious that the current "medical policies" aren't working, as studies show that post-op trans persons have a suicide rate higher than pre-op.  At what point do people who support this accept the fact that this isn't about being something you aren't, but about self loathing and mental illness?

Update:

Wrong "Anonymous" (why you hiding?)

Long-Term Follow-Up of Transsexual Persons Undergoing Sex Reassignment Surgery: Cohort Study in Sweden

Read it.  That's the science.  It's the only long term post-op vs pre-op study, and it was done to try and support the current policies in place.

It found out the exact opposite.  Next time actually do your research.

Good luck getting anyone in power to pay attention even though this is clear to 90% of humans and backed up by science. The trans lobby has institutionally captured the ruling class. They've converted every human rights org or women's group into serving their interests and only their interests (ACLU, Planned Parenthood, HRC, Women's March, even the frickin' Elizabeth Fry Society for women in prison!!!).

"It's obvious that the current "medical policies" aren't working"

    The complete opposite of reality.

"as studies show that post-op trans persons have a suicide rate higher than pre-op"

    Another LIE.

Why don't you crawl back under whatever rock you came from.
