  • Why Ask a Question if?

Why ask a question if you're not going to like honest answers and then report those who give an answer you don't like?

  • American men & Chinos?

What is the American males fascination with Chinos all about? I was in San Francisco in early January, if a male is remotely trendy in thier dress and fashion sense they seem to be gay, otherwise just about every male wears Chinos.

Do they not realise how ridiculous it looks?

  • Gasping????

In the '90s Ben Elton wrote a play called Gasping, essentially it was about a government of the future taxing us for the air we breath, it was very good.

Is this where we are now heading?

  • Roots Manuva?

Listening to Roots Manuva's Brand New Second Hand album, I'd forgotten how good UK hip hop is compared to that transatlantic crap that's in the charts all the time.

    What do you think?

  • National Road Pricing?

So this ineffective government of ours is thinking about national road pricing, at an average of £1.35 per mile.

Is this really going solve the issues or is it simply yet another tax on the motorist?

My office is 110 miles from home, so a round trip, which I do 2-3 times a week will cost almost £300.

I certainly won't pay it, my company will, they in turn will pass that to our clients who will then pass that onto their customers, that's you lot.

The consequencies of this will be devastating, this clearly has not be thought through, no surprise there.

    Your thoughts please.

  • Why can't Labour offer alternatives, only create more taxes?

Why are the Labour party incapable of ever offering alternatives, whether it is recycling, road congestion, air travel, whatever?

Their answer to absolutley everything is to increase tax, how will this help the situation?

I doubt very much whether the much talked about 'green taxes' will be ringfenced and used soley for the purpose of improving the environment and negating our destructive influence.

We are told that councils will be able to levy charges according to the weight of your rubbish, I agree in principle but will that be offset against the weight of our recycling and will it replace the rubbish collecting element of Council Tax? I doubt it.

This is just one small example.

    Your views please.
