I want to figure out how to stop the 3D effect in a 3D theater movie.

My kids get motion sickness and do not enjoy 3D.

But some movies are re-released in 3D and we want to enjoy them, but turn off the 3D.

I think that the polarizing method of lenses should mean that simply blocking one

eye would allow the other eye to enjoy the movie in 2D with no blur.

But the glasses would need to be used.

My kids argue that the movie will be blurry or that it will still be in 3D.

We really need to go test this, easy enough to do.

But they can't understand the explanation I give them regarding polarization and how each eye gets a blur free picture and that way either eye can see a blur free single image.

I suppose you might want to allow your dominant eye to do the viewing.

I believe that you need two working eyes to perceive the 3D effect.

And that with the glasses the blur is eliminated.

We replaced our 60 gb hard drive in our PS3 with a 500gb hard drive. It went very well.

My question is about space used/available on a PS3.

Simple math here - original 60gb hard drive in a PS3 has only 55gb usable (5gb goes to system ) and of that 55 none is available, all used up .

The backup to external media was 47gb according to the PS3.

This makes me think that I will use 47 to 55 of the new drive when I do the restore.

The 500gb hard drive lists total available space as 465gb before the restore - so this means 35gb went to overhead. So far so good, no problem.

After restore I would have expected available space to be 405 (465 - 60 = 405) at worst.

Instead I have 366gb which means that after restoring 47gb of PS3 data the drive

consumed 99gb. I never could have stored 99 on the original 60 hard drive so we are really curious

how a PS3 manages hard drive space.

As it is I am glad I used a 500 and not something smaller considering how much gets taken away.

So why does a PS3 use up so much space on the hard drive ?

I don't have a facebook account. I do get requests to join FB.

In the request emails (which I always ignore and have never been to FB)

there is a Other People You Might Know section with lists of people I do know.

The people listed are people I know but from different very disconnected walks of my life.

A person I once talked to in another state, someone I knew while volunteering somewhere else.

A random collection of family and friends that do not know each other. Some coworkers.

These are tremendously creepy emails as they are listing people that I keep in my head

but have no seeming connection to them outside of that.

Other than searching through peoples personal address lists I cannot conclude any other way

that FB is doing this. Someone suggested that every time a search is done they connect the searches to actual people. My name is fairly common so it explains some of that, but then I should be getting more

randomness and people I do not recognize. Problem is I do recognize the names.

fb is suggesting to me be friends with lots of people i actually know, which is very creepy.

This post details very much what I am experiencing. If I belonged to FB it would make

more sense. But I do not belong.

I know I cannot stop FB , and this certainly makes me not want to join even more.

The question is - How do they do it ?

Are users asked to upload a list of friends and contacts to allow FB to search through ?

In the last 5 years we have found that at all of our favorite Teppan restaurants the teppan chefs have lost everything that made them different than other chefs.

Typically todays visit is a very bored unentertaining fry cook that stands quietly and cooks the food and tosses it on the plate.

Really disappointing. At most all we have been getting is a person that bangs metal utensils together to make a lot of noise (like a child with a rattle or drum). Nothing of the juggling and magic of the earlier Teppan Chefs. Zero entertainment. After years of this being our favorite thing to do, my kids have made it clear - no more teppan. What do you all think ?

Are the restaurant employee unions destroying the talent of the Teppan Chef somehow by demanding that ordinary low trained fry cooks do this job ?

Or is it greedy restaurant owners not willing to pay talented people to work for them ?

One thing for sure - I have not seen a single person of Japanese decent in many many years doing Teppan. Really sad, as I speak Japanese and English.

Doing a lot of gpedit.msc work - group policy editor to get greyed out buttons to work and features to turn on. Most places the language says enabling this feature will turn it OFF ? This is so confusing.

What we learned is that leaving things disabled or not configured actually means they are on .

Why does MS do this ? Any real answer ?

Used to have dual monitors. Now I do not. Applications open on the missing monitor

and so far is impossible to force them to open only on main desktop. Windows XP SP2.

Very frustrating. Right click tray icon and tried every option. None work.

Cannot move, resize or anything.

New yahoo home page allows us to add and remove pre-chosen links to businesses. But Yahoo Maps has disappeared and is not a choice that can be added. I found that http://maps.yahoo.com/ still works, but for how long? I use yahoo maps a lot and do not want to lose this.

Anyone know how to add yaho maps to the new application bar on left ?

I select Christmas Traditional and Christmas Classic in Launchcast Radio Station and after a few songs it turns into something else entirely that is not Christmas at all. Not even remotely (Some kind of RAP music),

Any idea what is going on ?

I exit and reenter it continues on non-Christmas music.

The information bar at the top of the player window continues

to say Christmas music.
