  • Problems with waxing my legs?

I just waxed my legs for the first time today using Veets waxing strips. It came out pretty good (I only tried on a part of each leg). However, I guess I didn't completely remove the wax, and so some was still stuck on my leg. I didn't realize that until I pulled my sweatpants back on and now there are a lot of black threads from my sweatpants stuck on my leg! I tried to rinse it off by using water, but only some came off and it's red. How do I get rid of this? And is it okay to rewax again tomorrow?

  • What piano level is Ballade Pour Adeline?

I'm about a grade 5, and since it's summer here, I'm learning songs of my own. I have a teacher, in which I learn like classical stuff, so I learn like pop songs and whatever I want in my own free time. I chose Ballade Pour Adeline, and the notes I have are in the link below:

For someone that's about a grade 5, is this piece to advanced? Thank you~

  • Does he romantically like me?

So me and this guy have known each other for 8 years in the counting, and I guess you can say that we're pretty good friends. In June, before school ended, so many people were saying that we liked each other, and it even went to say that we were dating, when none of that happened at all! We couldn't have a conversation in school without someone going up to us and teasing us about being all romance-y. The last day of school ended awkwardly for us, because- A) we are going to different high schools, B) We wrote pretty emotional stuff for each other on yearbooks that made it awkward, C) Teasing from like everybody.

My close friends say that he likes me, because he would walk me home from school and on the days that I had to stay late in school, he would still walk me home. He never told me, but I found out that he takes a longer way to walk me home. In school, he would act like this tough manly guy in front of his friends, but in front of me, he acts really different. I don't even know why. However, he likes to flirt with girls a lot, so I don't know if he likes me, or not! He keeps on staring at me in class, and whenever I catch his eye, he looks away and pretends nothing happens. We would always chat online for like hours, but ever since summer break started, no conversation at all! I'm not the type of girl to make a first move, and also, all our conversations were started by him.

One day, we were talking about how all our friends tease us, and we both said that we were just friends to each other, but everybody thinks we like each other. From this, do you think that he likes me, or am I looking into this wayyyyyy too much?

  • What is a good piano song to learn?

I need a song for the piano, preferably a song without words. I normally play Yiruma, but my teacher wants me to play something besides from his music. I am about a level 4-5 (?). I don't take the tests, so I have absolutely no idea what level I am. I do follow the John W. Schaum book series for piano lessons, and I'm up to the last song on the level 4 one, starting level 5 in the next piano lesson. So I guess you can say that I'm a grade 4-5. Something nice sounding, and please link the sheet music if possible! Something preferably 4-5 pages, I don't want something that is in too many pages. THANKS!!

  • Parents won't let me walk home with a guy?

So I have a night concert at school, and both me and him are performing. We usually walk home from school together, which my parents don't know about. They think I walk alone. Since the concert's at night, they asked me if I needed a ride home. The thing is, we made plans to go home together, and I was fine with that. We go separate ways at the corner of my block, so it doesn't concern the "kidnapping-mugging" part that my parents worry about. They are always telling me not to go home with him, because his parents might go and pick him up inside and then what will I do.

We're really good friends, and I'm not gonna see him anymore after I graduate this year because we're going to different high schools. We sort of developed a really great friendship, although we're childhood friends. I don't know how to explain this to my parents, because they believe that going home with a guy is a date, even though I don't think it is. Help, please?

  • Would you buy fake flowers?

So for school, I have to make up a business, and sell the stuff for school profits. We aren't allowed to do food, because a graduate from last year brought sushi- raw fish --> school fears chance of food poisoning. So my group is selling flowers, but they're fake. However, Mother's Day has already passed for where I live, the U.S. Ignoring that fact, they're 25 cents each, 5 for a $1. They come in 5 different colors- light pink, red, white, lavender, and violet. Would you buy them? Why and why not? (Those are my main concerns. As I have been telling people about them, they were willing, they paid, they heard they were fake, they demanded a refund :( ) They're going to a cancer society; the only money kept would be for covering up expenses.

Thanks so much for answering, because I need to know how much to get, how to bring them all the school based on the number of them, etc. thanks :)

  • Any ideas for a science related meme?

I have to make a meme related to what I've covered so far this year in my 8th grade Earth Science class, so that's weather, rocks, continental drift, a bit on oceans, and we're starting astronomy (specifically, solar system). I was thinking maybe something like two objects really apart and the meme saying Why so apart when continental drift is so slow?

I don't know...it's due in two days..and I'm not your most creative person. I did see one showing a couple sleeping in two separate beds, but it was shown by the same teacher who assigned it, so I don't want to be seen as copying it. Any ideas that are school appropriate are welcome~

  • Not "fluently" recognizing piano notes but can still play?

I don't know if this happens to you pianists out there too, but after I play a song and I get it down, I look at the notes but I don't really recognize them. Like if I see an E, for example, I will play it, but I wouldn't recognize it in my head that it's an E until after I play it. If I start a new song, I will probably read and recognize them. But sometimes, I will just see a chord and play it, but not really know what notes they are. Does this happen to anyone else too? I've been playing for almost eight years...and I began to notice that this was happening to me for a few years already.

  • Auditioning for high school with Fur Elise?

I really want to get in band/orchestra for my high school because if you don't you have to attend Art or Music Appreciation. I heard that the ones they have there are really boring, so I really want to get in. I've played piano for at least 7 years now, and my teacher told me to play Fur Elise because I've been playing it for about 4 years now. He said that that would be an impressive piece. I get it, it's a classical one. But isn't it a bit overrated though? So I'm thinking that if I want to get in with Fur Elise, I have to play it almost flawlessly. Also, do you think it will let me get in? I know I got the other parts down, which are playing scales and sight reading. Those aren't hard, because I started scales on the first day of my piano lesson. But is Fur Elise enough to get me into a band/orchestra? I want to trust my teacher though- he's a Julliard graduate.

  • Songs for high school band audition?

So for the high school that I got into, everybody has to be involved in music one way or the other- if you take band/chorus, you don't have to sit through Music Appreciation, which I heard is really boring. It's kinda self explanatory as what you do there. Chorus is mandatory to try out for, band/orchestra is optional. I know I definitely won't get in chorus- I can't sing well and I don't like singing anyways.

So I'm going for piano- I've played for at almost 7.5 years. Should I ask my teacher for a song or just play a song that I like (which is what my parents are saying)? But I don't want to play something like Canon in D or Fur Elise- those are too overrated and cliche. I mean, they sound nice, but hearing them like EVERYWHERE is too much. And besides, most people who learn piano for at least 3-4 years will be able to play Fur Elise anyways. I kinda want to be impressive, because I really want to get in. I know how to play Solfeggietto, by C.P.E. Bach and it sounds good, but it's kinda short.

Also, I know multiple songs from Yiruma. He's like a modern composer, but it's not classical. So what should I go for- play what I know, or ask for suggestions from my teacher? I don't want anything hard though- I have to memorize it by June 6th.

  • What piano level am I?

So I've been playing ever since I was 6, and I'm 13 now. I use the John W. Schaum book series (I'm up to F, but almost the end), and according to that, I'm level 4. That's probably true. But I was wondering, what level is Solfeggietto, by C.P.E. Bach? Because I finished learning that about a month ago, and I was wondering how hard it is on the real tests, as I don't take the level tests. I know all my scales and arpeggios, and I'm starting to learn diminished 7th arpeggios- what level is that too? If I learn songs other from the John W. Schaum book, they're at least 4 pages. I learned Fur Elise when I was 9. So can anyone tell my piano level from this? It doesn't have to be exact, but about a grade range please? Because it's embarrassing to say that I've been playing for 7 years but I have no idea what level I am. Thanks

  • Is she being a fake friend?

So this girl and I have been talking since the end of 6th grade, now we're in 8th. She acts like she's so superior to me, and I hate that. All she does is gossip to me about which guys she thinks is hot, who's cute, who's not, etc. Our relationship is built on gossip. We have a mutual friend, which I am close too. She told the mutual friend that she's upset that she doesn't have her best friends with her in the same class, so she's sad. Like hello? She tells everybody that I'm her best friend, yet she gets upset that others aren't in the same class as her.

Now, she's spreading rumors about how I like this boy, when I barely know him. I've only started talking to him this year, because I have to sit next to him in math class, and that's the only class we share. Also, he's the one that initiates conversation, not me. And I'm pretty sure that he and one of my good friends have a thing going on, so why would I interfere with their relationship?!?

She acts really fake, like she goes around sucking up to teachers and gets jealous when I do better than her academically. I mean, if she wanted to compete with me, just study more. All she does is obsess over rock band singers, go to the movies at least twice a week, and hang out at the park almost everyday. Then she tells me that I don't have a life because I don't go to the movies. Well. I don't like movies, so is it my fault that I don't go?

Now I have to do a project with her, and I'm captain of the group. She doesn't want to do anything, so i'm like if you're not going to do anything, then I'm going to be doing your part because someone has to. And then she says stop being so bossy and pushy, let me do it. yet she complains about having too much work to do.

    What should I do?

  • Using a metronome with the piano?

I'm not a novice at piano, I' ve been playing for seven years. I have a metronome at home, it's just not used a lot. As I'm learning more and more complicated songs, I need to use it. Say that it's 60 beats per minute. Is it one beat (tick, click, whatever you will call it) per quarter note? If you give me a number on the metronome, I can tell you if it's fast (like 180) or slow, like 40-ish. But how do you match the beats to notes, like quarters, half, dotted half, and whole?

  • How much deodorant to apply?

How much is necessary? Some websites use the word 'stroke', but is that one up AND down movement, or just up OR down? I have 2-3 up or downs, but sometimes it doesn't work. it runs off during the end of my school day. Does this mean I'm applying too little, too much, or is it the wrong one for me? Thanks.

  • How often should I practice piano?

So I've been playing piano for almost 7 years, 7 yr mark in January!, and Im 13. I usually practice daily unless I'm busy, like if I have to study for a major test the next day, or if I'm sick. I usually practice from 45 min to 1 hr daily. But is it necessary to practice everyday? For the 22nd and 23rd, I havent touched my piano, at all. Now, I'm feeling guilty. I'm just curious; is it necessary? I mean, I love my piano and I love playing it, but on days that I don't play, I feel guilty, and kinda empty. But the walls in my house are really thin, and my neighbor just had a baby, so I don't want to disturb them. I have only have from 4-8:30 every weekday to practice, and with hw, tests, dinner, shower, I don't have much time to fit it in sometimes. So, any advice on this?

  • Experiencing pain in right elbow?

so for the past two days, I've been experiencing pain in my right elbow. It isn't extreme pain, but it isn't something that I can ignore. It's like a headache; you know its there. I've researched a little, is this called tennis elbow? I would appreciate it if you tell me anything about it, or this case of mine. If necessary, i'm a teen girl, I'm mixed handed, meaning a bit of a mix between right and left although dominant right hand, dominant left eye. I play piano, an intermediate-advanced level, about an hour a day. thanks.

  • Should I shave my legs?

I'm a teen girl, i've never shaved my legs before. However, my older sister does, so I don't need to buy any products. I've never really had anything to shave off before, but now I notice that I do have hair on my legs, yet all the other girls in my class don't. Why? Because they shave. It's peer pressure, i know that, but when i wear shorts in the summer, I feel kinda embarrassed about it. It's more typical to see guys with leg hair, not girls.

However, if I'm gonna do it, I would just simply take my sisters stuff, which isn't that hard, because she uses the wax strips,so she probably won't notice if a few is missing. Also, if I don't want to do it that often,is twice a month acceptable ? thanks
