2 AnswersMartial Arts7 years agoWhat Christmas present to buy for a new relationship?
I have been dating a new woman for about a month. She and I are getting along well and I would like to get her a some nice for Christmas. But I am not sure what to buy because the relationship is so new that I don't want to come on too strong or not strong enough. Does anyone have a suggestion? (she is in her 40's and owns her own home)
6 AnswersChristmas8 years agoWhat is a good low cost sewing machine for a novice?
I am a novice when it comes to sewing machines. I would like to buy a basic, low cost machine to do some hemming and simple patching. The past machine I bought (a Singer) broke after only using is a few times (this was several years ago). I'd like to find something simple to use and that costs less than a hundred dollars. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles just a solid basic sewing machine. Any suggestions?
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden9 years agoWhy do women keep leaving me for jerks?
I do not have a great track record with women and I don't know why. There are three time in my life when I have lost serious relationships (one was a marriage) to men that were, for lack of a better term, jerks. I have been told I am a real nice guy that has a lot to offer. I work hard, have my own home, raised my sons on my own, have a good secure job and have been told I am good looking. I treat my women well, with kindness, patience and I have a very romantic side to me. This past week I lost a wonderful woman that decided to go back to her last relationship. The guy is verbally and emotionally abusive, he cheats and he doesn't offer any sort of kindness/romance (this is all according to her). But after a misunderstanding between us she decided to run back to him telling me that she never loved a man as much as she loved him. I'm now emotionally spent wondering why this has happened to me for the third time in my life. I'm sure there are some out there that have had similar experiences or who have some insight in to this phenomenon that I don't get. Please help me understand this. And not wise guys please. I'm just trying to get some understanding so I can find some peace.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating9 years agoWould you consider a "serious" third party candidate?
Independent and third party candidates get little to no publicity in the media. The Reps and Dems have developed a system that makes is more difficult to run as anything other than a Rep or Dem. Some of these "outsiders" have good ideas yet they are not given a platform on which to present them. How do you feel about a serious third party and would you support reform that would allow third party candidates a more equal playing field? If you do support the current two party system, why do you think an accepted third party would be bad idea?
1 AnswerElections1 decade agoAny input on Windows XP vs Linux XP?
I have a laptop that came loaded with Vista. I have to clean Vista off and install Windows XP due to some contract work I will be doing (there is a software computability issue). I have been doing some reading on Linux XP and was wondering if this might be a viable option for me. The software I need to run does have a Linux version but what about compatibility with other products (like MS Office and other typical apps).
Any good input will be appreciated.
3 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoCan I get MSN Live Mail without a new address?
I currently have an email account with msn (similar to this: example@msn.com). I tried to sign up for this new Live Mail thing they have but it's forcing me to create a new email address using hotmail (like this: example@hotmail.com). I don't want to change my email address if I can avoid it (what a pain that can be). Does anyone know if I have to make this change? If not, how can I keep my address and use Live Mail? I have a request in to MSN for an answer but they are not responding very quickly (big surprise huh?).
2 AnswersMSN1 decade agoWhat is the best time to visit Battleship Cove?
I am thinking of taking my sons to Battleship Cove in Fall River, Mass. I know the 4th of July is almost here and I was thinking of going that day. Is this place real crowded on the 4th? Should I go another day? If it rains does it take away from the exibits?
1 AnswerOther - United States1 decade agoWhat can you tell me about Fred Thompson?
I am looking for a presidential candidate to get behind. I keep hearing about Fred Thompson entering the race and how he's going to be a front runner. I went to his website but it's just a place to raise money. Can someone please tell me what he stands for? What will his platform be? What are his positions of things like national security, illegal immigration, health care, taxes, etc.? The last thing I want to do is support a candidate without knowing what they are all about. It seems to me that Thompson is one of those guys who is getting a lot of buzz but no one can tell me why.
11 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy doesn't XP see my external hard drive?
I purchased a used 40GB hard drive and a HD enclosure in order to make an external HD. When I hook it up (according to the manual) XP sees that it's been connected but then will not recognize it in explorer. To troubleshoot it I have tried putting it into my computer as a slave drive. I can see it Device Manager but the Disk Manager won't see it. Under the properties in Device Manger it says that the HD has no volume.
Any input will be greatly appreciated. I've got several hours in on this and I have run out of ideas.

6 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoShould I consider a 64 bit version of Windows for my 64 bit processor?
I am building a new computer with a 64 bit processor (AMD) and I am trying to decide if I should purchase a standard (32 bit) version of Windows XP or a 64 bit version. I don't feel like Vista is an option at this time (I'm waiting until they work some of the security bugs out) but when I'm ready I need to decide between a 32 or 64 bit version of that also.
What are the pros and cons of a 64 bit operating system?
5 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHow much should I epxect to pay for a modular home?
I'm looking at options for buying or building a home. One option is to buy some land and put a modular (prefab) home on it. None of the websites I've looked at give prices. They all want you to leave a number or email address for a quote. I just want to know, generally, what kind of money I am looking at spending for a 1500-2000 sq ft modular home with 3 bedroom.
