  • need to sell a set of tacori bands?

long story, but i have a set of custom tacori bands (one is a eternity diamond band that was to be an engagement band, the other is a plain band that was to be a wedding band, both platinum) that i recently bought but, as it turns out, no longer have a need for. and they dont fit me (haha).

how should i go about getting rid of them, for a decent price?

  • how to structure an organization that donates profits to charity?

I've started a single member LLC (texas) selling products that i design and make and am donating a substantial portion (40%) to charity. My first sales were in Q2 2011 (so, no franchise taxes reported in previous years, and unsubstantial income).

My margin analysis is approx (for $100 in sales):

    $100 in sales

10$ sales overhead/admin (cc transaction fees, webhosting, etc)

    50$ cogs (25$ materials, $25 my labor)

    40$ donation amount

-i would like to run my LLC as closely like an S Corp as possible, which means I keep all of the business income and expenses as isolated from my own as possible (all purchases and sales go through business account - registered in business name).

-so far (1.5 years) i have reported to IRS income/expenses on schedule C (just interest earned on the business accounts), and have reported all donations on my personal 1040.

-i am considering adding a member to the LLC (investment) and would like to keep all of the donations out of the personal returns if possible.

my question is: is there another way to report the donations, other than on my 1040? Can this be factored into the amount reported on Schedule C (ex: if I have $100 rev, $35 in actual expenses, and make $40 donation, can i report $25 business income, or do i have to report $65 in business income on Schedule C and show the $40 donation on my personal 1040?), or is there a more or less beneficial way of reporting the income/expense/donation?

  • GV-HD700 v. camcorder for video transfer to PC?

    I have two requirements:

Current: Transfer several old miniDV tapes to my PC.

Future: Transfer HD miniDV tapes (shot on XH-A1 I just purchased) to PC (rather than playing back on XH-A1 to transfer). It may be some time before I really need to transfer HD miniDV tapes...

I'm also a baller on a budget, and I dont want to drop alot at the moment, especially since I don't need to transfer the tapes shot on XH-A1 for some time.

Should I drop $1000 on the GV-HD700 or buy a miniDV camcorder (used) for transfer? is the GV-HD700 worth it?

Also - would I be able to transfer tape shot in HD on a SD miniDV camcorder?

  • Child Support in Texas?

In the process of a separation in Texas (never married), with two young children. I understand that guideline support requires non-custodial parent to pay child support in the amount of 25% (for two children). But - what if the custodial parent has income 4-5 times of the non-custodial parent?

Does this affect the determination, or can it be taken into condsideration in a non-guideline support?

    ex:

    custodial: $240,000/yr

    non-custodial: $60,000/yr

    thanks

  • gift for a romantic interest?

need some ideas on a (29th) birthday gift for a romantic interest who lives across the country - something that can be delivered to her office (note: i have a great courier, so it can be anything).

we aren't necessarily involved but both fancy one another. I've had cupcakes sent before but I dont want to wear it out or be a one trick pony.

It can be cheesy or romantic or just fun. also dont want to just send flowers.

    thanks!

  • what is a term or phrase that describes 'giving life to' or similar?

I'm looking for terms or phrases that describe an act or create an image of taking something and distributing it.

My first thought - and something to get you started - is 'arterial' or 'aortic', creating imagery of taking blood (life) from the heart and distributing it to the body. I'm just not fond of the image it creates.

    Thanks!

  • what are the advantages of shooting in RAW vs JPEG?

I'm an extreme novice - I just purchased a Canon XSi. In the camera settings, it allows me to save shots taken in autoshoot modes as jpeg only but allows JPEG and RAW when shooting in one of the 'manual' shot modes. What are the advantages of shooting in RAW? Is it just a format used for digital manipulation and if so is it better than just manipulating a JPEG in photoshop?

    thanks
