The on & off Switch above the keypad has been playing up and now it wont power up at all, I stupidly have tried hot wiring across the on & off contacts with solder and 2 wires but not sure if that's bridging the contacts for the switch to work direct as it still wont come on..have tried another charger just incase but still no luck..i like a challenge as a layman pc engineer and don't want to take it to a shop at this point so I would like to thank you in Advance for any guided advice you could give me on the laptop for the best outcome and answer to help me, Many Thanks.

The group has 600 members , i am the Admin, But Facebook only allow the option to change a name in Edit Settings with 250 members or under does anyone know a way around this as i don't want to lose the members or start a new group but the existing name is copyright owned and ends January 2012 Thanks in advance...

the reason the said pc is not online is i only have a lan type dongle and not a phone line.the dongle is working great but to install it on the problem pc to try and download a driver,well on the dongle install at a point you have to say next to continue to get online BUT the screen is set to wide to press the next,any ideas to do offline welcome,cheers in advance

rom,s in the bios,the old one has gone,it gets power to run the dvd,s but wont play them or autorun to download new windows or autorun new power dvd for videos,and in the bios onder the boot sequence 3rd which ii usually CD-DVD ROM,its says none even wnen ive tried 3 working ones,do i have to try and link it somehow to be linked in ?cant remember tha answer to this one been a while,any good answers cheers in advance for answers a.s.a.p.as i got to sought it out now though its late in uk,thanks

was working fine earlier,because my hardrive is only a 20GB,i decided to shut down the pc and not unplug it,and just cliked rear switch to zero,then i removed my hardrive to try the other 80GB,harddrive to see if it would work but would not up,so when i reinstalled my own 20GB,hardrive it would not boot up does not even go to any configiration mode and tried 3 re-booters plus my bios does not recognise my hardrive anywhere,ps.before anyone asks my pc is a AMD asus motherboard and does not have advantage of swapping of moviing the 3 pin input 2 the 2 selection input to reset the bios,have trid moving battery for 10 mins but no luck,anyone please who could help would like to welcome in advance,many thanks,ned

everytime i try to visit a website on my own pc a box aprox 4"by7" pops up blocking me with the word,content advisor then underneath in the same box it says,content advisor will not let you visit this website,and when i try to go to visit another website it says under the content advisor,this page may contain some or all of the following,it gives examples like exlicit content e.t.c.then in the box on some sites i try to go in the advisor box underneath says,this page does not have have a rating and underneath again says,someone must type in a supervisor password before i can procede to use the computer i dont know how i have ended up creating this censesouring disaster,please help how do i get this content advisor off or deleted so i can use my own personal computer,any advice welome,many thanks

my pc is a asus AMD athlon windows pro XP cpu,2x2400 duo core 1.07 GHz duo proccessor 640 MB,can anyone please solve this problem ? when you press the start button on pc tower it starts up usual with IE,windows and normal blue squares that run just before windows open BUT then for 1 second gives a flicker of blu screen with problem and codes but way to fast to read it does not freeze long enough,then it goes into the start in safe mode down to opening windows normally and just keep revolving doing so to no luck?NOTE before anyone considers the bios and just like to rule it out as its been double checked by a computer engineer and all settings,e.t.c.are accurate and even here is lost on resolving this problem has anyone got any better suggestions to help,would appericiate,many thanks,alan,wales,uk
