I’m 26, fat (weigh 240lbs, 6’2”, male), and have no heart problems that I know of. Can I have a heart attack if I run as fast as I can...?
... for as long as my body physically lets me, in attempt to push my physical and mental limits and to speed up my weight loss journey? I did such a thing today a few times in a row, and my lungs felt like they were on fire, my heart felt like it was going a million miles a minute, my legs felt like rubber, and I felt like I was going to pass out. I’m using dramatic words but to some extent that was literally what it felt like. My watch claims my heart rate was at 182bpm. For someone who clearly doesn’t work out, I therefore have no idea if that is too high for a couch potato’s heart to run at. I don’t think my symptoms were anomalies for an out-of-shape person by any means. I just want to know if I can keep pushing my ultimate limits at such an early stage in the process of getting back into shape (use to be an athlete believe it or not).
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 week agoIn an air brake system on a trailer-truck combination, what are the differences between a quick release valve and a relay valve?
They both seem to have the properties of speeding up the braking application. The quick release releases air faster as it has a exhaust port that’s located close to the brake chamber, whereas the relay valve has the property of releasing and applying air brakes faster, yet does not have an exhaust port (of my knowledge). Why have a quick release valve when you could just install relay valves and have best of both worlds— that is, fast brake application AND fast brake release....
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 month agoIs there no spring between the right side hard wall and the soft wall in a 10-speed semi truck transmission?
I’m studying for my class 1 commercial vehicle license and noticed there’s a spring between the left side hard wall and the soft wall but don’t see a spring on the other side.
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation2 months agoWhy is that when you, the bank, or whomever checks your credit score, it goes down?
Why is that a thing? Shouldn’t credit score be solely about how well you pay off your credit—and not also about how often you or someone else checks your credit score? I don’t get it. You’d think you’d want someone to be actively checking their credit score?
5 AnswersCredit2 months agoIs there a name for the movement of a Knight in chess that’s not “2 left/right, 1 up/down, or 2 up/down, 1 left/right” or “in a L pattern”?
Bishops move “diagonally”. Rooks move “horizontally or vertically”, a Queen moves “diagonally, horizontally, or vertically”, etc. Is there a word that describes the movement pattern of a Knight?
3 AnswersBoard Games2 months agoBest books to read or best advice to receive to improve my chess game? ?
I’m really bad. Like really really bad. I’ve only played for 3 weeks now but I should be a lot better for how much I’ve read about chess. I’ve read into how to open my chess board so my pieces have mobility towards the start, how forks and pins work, how to pile up attackers on crucial squares, when to make good trades, and etc, and I still really suck. Everyone I play against on chess.com always beat me.
7 AnswersBoard Games2 months agoHow come sometimes in Chess, I don’t have to check the king before a checkmate and then other times I do and it results in an annoying draw?
Someone told me I need to check the king before I deliver a checkmate but there’s been times where I win against a computer without having to do a check first. But then other times I’ve lost executing the win because the king was not in check first
5 AnswersBoard Games2 months agoCan etransfers bounce? ?
I’m selling a couple guitars across the country to some guy on craigslist who’s interested in them. He said once I figure out the shipping costs, he’ll pay for the guitars and the shipping costs through an etransfer. I’ve never done an etransfer before with a stranger and I’ve heard something about etransfers can sometimes not be safe. Is this still the case?
2 AnswersOther - Destinations3 months agoIf I built a super-scaled-down and dumbed-down replica of a liquid fuel engine, do you think it would still function relatively the same?
I’ve built many solid-fueled rockets, but I want to dive into liquid fuel engines. Yes I know I’m probably way over my head with the complexity involved, but I still want to try. What do you think my best bet is?
5 AnswersEngineering3 months agoAm I the only one skeptical about Boston Dynamics’s new robot dancing video being CGI?
I don’t think their robots are incapable of being coded to do the dance in that manner, but the “music video” looks completely CGI. Just me? https://youtu.be/fn3KWM1kuAw
5 AnswersEngineering3 months agoIf the liquid hydrogen(LH) in rockets needs to be vented out as it warms up on the launch pad, why not just store the LH at a warmer temp?
It just doesn’t make sense to me, but I’m the furthest thing away from a rocket scientist. If the LH is already going to boil off on the launch pad, then why store it at super-cooled temperatures? It sounds like a waste of LH and money.

2 AnswersAstronomy & Space3 months agoAre there any knock-off AutoCAD apps or softwares that I can download onto my laptop or iPhone, that are either free or really cheap?
My son and I would like to start building some of our own small projects together that utilize an Arduino, nested within a housing and other components that make up the project. So with that said, we would like some help three-dimensionally visualizing the project together through a program or app that’s something like AutoCAD.
Thanks,Ryan
