  • British rock band song about sea side town or a pier on MTV Rocks?

Saw a music video on MTV Rocks a while ago but can't remember the band or song name. I'm almost certain the band were British, the lead singer had long-ish brown hair and a nose piercing and was sitting on some steps. The video had footage of people going around this little seaside town and I *think* the song title had something about a pier in it but I'm not sure? Also, they were a rock/alternative band!

  • Do men care as much as women about texts etc?

By my own experience of it as a woman, and my female friends, I can say women are a bit neurotic at the start of a relationship. Everything is over analysed, such as how long between texts, how many x's are the end of messages and various other factors.

I was wondering if this is something men do too? If they give their number to a girl do they actually care about if she texts him or not, do they mull over that stuff as much as women do?

  • Are Asian People More Prone To Travel Sickness Than Other Ethnicities?

I only ask because I was reading an account by a Lonely Planet travel writer who has lived in Asia and traveled around Asia who was wondering this, and it does make an interesting point. He noticed that during long distance bus journeys or train journeys they frequently had to stop because people were being sick, however when he was on similar travels in Europe and Africa he noticed that they generally had much stronger stomachs. So, can ethnicity play a part in if you suffer from travel sickness?

  • Molar Extraction - How Long Should the Rotten Taste Last?

I got a molar taken out 5 days ago but there's still a rotten taste in my mouth. I still brush my teeth and floss (not near the socket, of course) and I use Corsodyl twice a day. The taste still lingers though. And in case anyone suggests it I doubt it's dry socket - the clot's still there and there is no pain.

For how much longer should I expect this rotten taste to last? When will I know when the socket has healed?

  • How effective is valium?

I've to take 5mg's of valium before I get a tooth extraction, has anyone else here taken valium? What reaction does it cause? How long does it take to work? Will it help make me more relaxed during the dental work?

  • Very nervous, molar extraction with valium?

I have to get a molar on the left side of my mouth (not a wisdow tooth) removed and I'm absolutely terrified. I've been prescribed Valium to take just before it, and I want to know if anyone else has done so to, and how well it worked? I mean, I'm afraid my mouth will be filled with blood and that it'll be quite difficult to get the tooth out.

And I keep reading about how getting that molar removed can affect all of the teeth that surround it. Also, I'm prone to collapsing and I collapse every single time I get a tooth removed - can the valium prevent this? Any advice?

  • Londoners: How Do You Get Home From Heathrow?

Or people who live in London. My reason for asking this is because I know that there's a way to get into central London from Heathrow (not the Heathrow Express) that takes about an hour but is much cheaper than the Heathrow Express. So, Londoners, is the Heathrow Express merely used by tourists willing to part with a sizeable amount of money, or do you avail of this service too? Which do you recommend? (I'll be going to Bayswater)

  • Folksy, Acoustic Song Playing In HMV?

    Hi,

I was in HMV today and there was a really good song on - it was sorta acoustic, but at times the guy was just singing without any instrumentation. Now, it was a man singing and it wasn't Mumford & Sons, Noah & the Whale, Seasick Steve, Bon Iver or Fleet Foxes. He sounded solo, and sang something about having to "call" *pause* "the police". But then the police couldn't help him or something? The song seemed quite short, maybe just over two minutes long? Can anyone identify the song?

  • How to remedy gloopy nail polish?

I have purple Barry M nail polish which I absolutely love, but I can't really use it anymore as it's become quite gloopy, and not liquid-y anymore. I've had it for a few months, but I've other nail varnish for much longer which is still perfectly fine? Oh, and I already tried putting the nail polish in the fridge for a bit but it didn't help. Any ideas how I could fix this?

  • Is this an unusual reaction to seeing such a thing?

I noticed while watching television with some friends of mine that whenever there's a vomiting scene one of my friends cringes and looks away and sticks her fingers in her ears, or tries to switch the station as quickly as possible. Now, I know it's not a pleasant thing to watch, but she's the only person I know who has this reaction to vomiting scenes. I sort of watch as it's part of the story (albeit usually unnecessary) but she can't seem to stand it at all. Is this normal behaviour? Is this something you do?

  • Translate this Italian into English?

I got this on the back of a kid's toy that I can't figure out how to work it, it'd be great if someone could shed some light on it! It says the following om the back:

    1. Estrarre la cannuccia e soffiare.

    2. Impugnare il sacchetto per l'estremita inferiore.

    3. Far scoppiare in un botto.

Sorry if there are any spelling mistakes!

  • How to make a not-so-white t-shirt white again?

I got a white t-shirt three years ago which I absolutely love, it's a band t-shirt and the ink has faded a bit. However, I wore it to a concert a few months ago and it looks manky and a bit yellow now and I just can't get it back to being white. If I were to bring it to the dry-cleaners could they fix it? Or, better yet, are there any techniques anyone here has for bringing their clothes back to being white?

  • London Oyster Card: Paddington to Picadilly?

I'll be going to London for a week, during that time I'll be doing work experience which means I'll be going to and from the company at peak times daily for that week. I've been told the Oyster Card is the best option, but I honestly have no clue about it - how much does it cost? going from Paddington to Picadilly daily? How do I top it up? Also, I'll probably go to Camden or Camberwell once when I'm there - how much will this affect costs? Is there a 'type' of Oyster Card? Is the Bakerloo line generally safe?

Additionally, I'll be commuting to Leicester Square - would the Picadilly Circus or the Charing Cross Station be closer? Thanks, I'd really appreciate some help with this!
