use of ferrous sulphate andcalcium nitrate in sewage treatment?

Ferrous sulphate can be used as coagulating agent when the sewage mud won't sink down.
Calcium nitrate might be used as fertilizer for nutrient-poor sewage. In praxis, however, nitrate tends to be abundant and needs to be eliminated, which makes adding some sort of dubious.
