Khakhi tights with black velvet dress?

I am wearing an ankle-length strappy black velvet dress tomorrow and was wondering if it would go well with semi-opaque khaki tights. Or should I wear regular 15-denier sheer tights (they also contrast with my skin, sort of pale mediterranean olive)?

My shoes, cardi and purse are also black (satin and velvet); and I won't have time to shop for other colour tights tomorrow (it's difficult to find them my size).

The most sensible answer gets extra points! :-)

The khaki tights don't seem to go with your overall look. I'd pick a sheer tight, while it may still contrast with your skin tone, it seems like it will go better then the khakis might. The whole look sounds nice though, and with an ankle length dress not much of your legs are going to show, unless there is a side slit or something..Good luck, hope that helps you!

Okay step away from the khaki. What you described sounds really classy and the khaki will seriously take away from that look. The sheer will go with the whole look better. But if you're looking for a unique touch or a little color find it in something simple like a pin, a hair clip, or maybe jewelry. Just remember acessories pull a look together not make it. But I'm sure you'll look great so don't worry and good luck :)

I think you should go with the sheer tights over the khaki ones. It sounds like your dress is quite fancy, don't bring the outfit down by teaming it with a colour that Defence Force personnel wear!

Anyway, if your dress is ankle length, there won't really be much of your tights showing will there?

Khaki tights sound terrible. Go with the sheer ones.

sheer or none at all, even if its snowing no tights would look a thousand times better than khakhi, and I suspect you're going to be inside most of the time. Have a great evening.

the Khakhi tights will look very good with black velvet dress

the only other tights you should wear are -

    black opaque tights and

    black sheer tights

all three tights will look very sexy and mix well with the dress

Your dress is ankle-length so it won't matter much, but I would definitely go with sheer tights. You know, you don't even have to wear tights - you could go with knee-highs - if you're wearing sandals you could even go without any tights/stockings at all. Presumably you're not going to be outside all night!

If you have to choose one then I would advise you don't wear the khaki ones. I believe the others would work better.

Cant you just stick on some fake tan and go for no tights!

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!! Sheer ones please, and please cover your arms with a wrap or something because tights and bare arms look awful on ANYONE! Sienna Miller, take note!
