UK TV Advert aimed at children?

As part of my uni work, I have to watch a children's advert on TV to see what kinds of tactics the advertisers use to sell the product. However, I'm having trouble finding an advert aimed at children. Can anyone help me think of one please? Most of the products that I can think of, such as Frosties or Birdseye fish fingers, don't seem to have been advertised on TV for a long time. Even McDonald's adverts seem pretty scarce these days. If anyone can help me, that'd be brilliant. Thank you.

    Hello!

If I were doing what you're doing I'd definitely try and watch the sky/ free view childrens channels. Why not try doing something like cereal adverts as most of them seem to concentrate of grabbing childrens attention, espeically with all the animals and stuff! What about Shreddies, Coco Pops or Frosties? They would seem to be the most obvious choices to me. If not, and if you don't just have terestrial tv try and see if there are any adverts which advertise toys for children. I know now probably isn't the best time to see them as it isn't Xmas etc but you never know!

    Good luck! :-)

Mcdonalds and sweet adverts are scarce these days because they are trying to stop children eating too much of the wrong food. The case of the young boy in the North East as seen on the news is a prime reason. It is the parents that need educating. If an adult is overweight it is their own doing as they choose what to eat but a parent should ensure their kids eat a balanced diet. Mine are allowed the occaisional lunch from Mac's but always go for the fillet of fish or the chicken nuggets. Perhaps you could use the govrnments new advertising policy to answer your survey.

The best place to look is probably a sky channel and wait for the adverts but if your on regional tv then I suggest the petit flois yoghurts i think their aimed at children or maybe babybells? I mean saturday morning would be a good place to look for childrens advertisements.

They usually aim the adverts at people who they think will be watching the programmes which the adverts are inbetween so you need to watch the adverts that are between kids programmes in the morning or after school time or on cartoon network.

Watch a couple of saturday morning kids tv shows on ITV or Channel 4. Thats the main time that kids adverts will be shown, to capture the audience of their target market.
