grant or funding for drama school?

I would like to know what should I do to get a grant or scholarship to fund my course. I know that there are several charities, unions and organisations that may do this, but what do I have to do to get someone interested in me? what should I offer in exchange?

It's very hard to comment without being sure which country you are in. I went through this in the UK...I wrote over two hundred letters to various charities, trusts and individuals and I only got two hundred pounds from one playwright.

Dont be put off though...one tip is to think about any family links you may have with large companies or maybe the forces? They sometimes help people who have a history with them. If you are UK based their is a book in the library called the The Diary of Grant Giving Trusts...it list every group who gives money and who qualifies for help. I eventually found help through a trust linked to the city that my family is from....also ask the college for advice, they know the names of trusts whove helped previous students.
