What's the best exit no from the Hong Kong AEL station?
I'm staying at a hotel in the Wanchai area but it's still a good walk from the Wanchai or Causeway Bay MTR station. As I'll be loaded with luggage, I'm thinking a taxi from Hong Kong Station would be easier - anyone from HK reading this who can let me know the best exit number I need for the taxi rank?
Or would I be better walking through to Central station before exiting?

As soon as you arrived to the AEL Hong Kong station, you could view the taxi stand right in front of you from the platform, you only need to walk straight towards that direction and queue up!
When you leave your hotel on your last day in Hong Kong, just tell the taxi driver or the hotel staff that you need to go to the
In-town-check-in Hall of Hong Kong station in Central,
the taxi would go the station where you can drop off your luggage on the trollery and go to the check-in counter within 1 minute.
After you picked up your luggages from the luggage claims and left the custom when you first arrived to Hong Kong International Airport, there are various information leaflets, handouts about the airport or transportation or maps on a counters for new comers then move forward (facing forward there are information counter and Airport Express platform, just go to the same direction - you would see Burger King there in front of you.)

When you come out of Arrivals almost immediately opposite there is a Fast Food Restaurant and a little to the right there is a passageway that leads to the Rail, bus and taxi links to HK Central. Clearly signposted - taxis are to the right of the railway station entrance. Be prepared for a lengthy and expensive taxi journey. If possible (luggage permitting) take the train to Central and take a taxi from there. There are luggage trolleys available at Central Station

Once you get to Central on the Airport Express, there are free shuttle buses (equipped with luggage storage) that go to many of the major hotels there. Go to where the shuttle buses are and look to see if one of them goes to your hotel. Otherwise, take a short (and cheap) taxi ride to Wanchai, there are signs to where the taxis are, you don't want to ride the MTR with a lot of luggage nor will you want to walk any distance at all with your luggage through the crowded streets of Wanchai or Causeway Bay.
