SOUTH EAST ASIA - Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia?

Question

I am going to all the above countries. I hope to spend a year in Asia with my boyfriend and was wondering how much we would need for a year moneywise. We stay in cheap hotels and eat resonably cheaply and dont only go to the tourist resorts. We get goverment buses too. We do smoke though and we drink. We are planning to only spend a couple of weeks in malaysia and the rest of the year everywhere else. 
Can anyone give us any idea on how much we will need to take?

Among all, malaysia is the best as the political environment is stable, food is good n hygienic, good hotels are also quite reasonable priced. among all, mayb u should spend less time in laos or indonesia (depends on which area u r going). Ive got 3 friends who went to indonesia on 3 separate occasions, all came back with extreme diarrhoea.

U seem to choose Malaysia. Now, im gonna ask you that where is the next destination for the next plan of your holiday ?
Could you make  a choices to beyond of Malaysia ? There is Bali on your mind to choose ?
This is the island of the gods where the tradition and culture still kept well. Where the beach is beutiful, where the tourists need is well constucted ? Where the five to 1 star hotel is everywhere ?

i think 10-15 usd are enough per person if u stay in a budget hotel for food and accommodation even public transportation can be done in this.relatively these countries are cheap,Thailand being the cheapest i guess.

if u stay in Jakarta at a budget inn, it will cost u about 20 USD perday, but you can rent apartement room for 1500 USD a year.
Daily meal is around 10 USD/day/pax. exclude drink and cigarettes.
Transportation is relatively cheap, about 10 USD, depends on the distance.
