Would you trust Virgin Medias claims that you can watch on-demand programmes whenever you want?
We have been a customers of cable since NTL moved into this area, since they changed its name to virgin media, on-demand doesn't work 80% of the time.
I missed Robin Hood today, can't watch it because on demand isn't working, and because Norton Internetr security won't let me download it and use BBC's iplayer.
Don't imagine the virgin company took it over they didn't NTL bought Virgin media and Richard Branston got about 15% of the shares for the renamed company virgin media.

I recently had multiroom installed with virgin, after being with Sky for 5 years.I set the pin numbers on both boxes, but when I got my first bill I nearly died of shock.
My 14 year old autistic son was able to order 33 films on demand, without the system asking for a pin number. When I chalenged virgin about how this was possible, they told me the pin number does not stop the purchase of U rated films.
I have to enter a pin number on the living room box to watch a programme that I have recorded, yet my son can order films without one.
Virgin media are a joke of a company, can't wait to go back to sky.

It's a pain in the @rse. It more often than not says 'temporarily unavailable. If this continues to happen please call us blah blah'
Then when you phone them your on hold for about an hour just for them to say 'It's a technical fault'. Yeah right!
The other thing that's annoying me is no programme information all the time.Ahhh!!
I never had a problem when it was NTL. It's only now Virgin took over it's got like it. If I didn't have a chipped box I would cancel the lot. :0)

I think you made a mistake with you additional details, NTL bought virgin mobile, and negotiated the right to call NTL/Telewest Virgin Media.
I never wanted them to change the name, NTL could have got a good reputation by continuing to improve the service, the name change has deteriorated the service we used to have.

It got to the stage where I couldn't watch ANY programmes without the screen freezing on me or going off air for about 10 seconds at a time every 10 minutes or so.
Computer kept crashing, phone often had faults. The final straw for me came when I phoned to report a fault and received a message telling me it would cost me so much per minute and so much connection fee - they were charging ME to report that their service wasn't working!
I'm now with SKY!

The BBC iPlayer has nothing to do with Virgin's on demand films, they go thru the TV and iPlayer goes thru your PC. I have Virgin and watched Bridge to Terabithia the other day with no probs.

Oh my god we had so many problems with the on demand that we quit virgin and went to sky. Good luck though if you want to quit virgin we just couldn't do it. They transferred us to phones that were never answered in the end we had to get BT to do it when they put in a new phone line. Virgin should be ashamed.

your not alone most of the stuff put on digital t.v. is rubbish and since virgin media took over it has gone down hill rapidly, in my book virgin have got a long way to go before I shall be a satisfied customer.

No - look at Virgin Trains or most other things Branson has a hand in. They only work when he leaves.

It works for me i've watched lost seasons 1 and 2 on it!
You should really get someone over to check your box is working properly. Ours broke and they fixed it for us.

I agree...sometimes here in UK we get much too far in front of ourselves, lets face it, we haven't got widespread HD tv yet which has been operating in Japan and USA for years....whats wrong with just normal TV, satellite or cable...its all crap anyway....
